To join the club, we can add your name to the waiting list for the next available probation course. We run this course once a year, usually starting at the start of the year so there may be a bit of a wait to begin with dependent on when you apply and how many people are also on the waiting list at the same time.
The probation course starts off with an introduction night where you can come and see the range, see what disciplines we offer and try your hand with one of our rifles. If you decide that you want to continue with the course then it is a 20 week course where we take you through gun safety, how to handle a firearm safely, different types of shooting, maintenance, storage, reloading and more. There is a practical test at the end to demonstrate you have learned gun safety and a 20 question written test based on what we have taught you.
At the end of the successful probation then you will be offered membership of DRPC and enjoy all the benefits that membership has to offer. We will notify Police Scotland of your membership and then you can apply for a Firearms Certificate of Air Weapon Licence.
The cost of the probation course is £80, and this includes all ammunition, targets, reloading supplies, pellets and training. We run the probation course on a Wednesday evening at 6:30pm for 20 weeks.
To apply for the next probation course, email the Secretary dundonaldrpc@gmail.com with your details.
